Domaine Gerard Duplessis Chablis Premier Cru Montmains

2015 Domaine Gerard Duplessis Chablis Premier Cru Montmains

 

🎯 91/100 pts 4.2 ⭐️ 

🏰 Domaine Duplessis er en prestisjefylt vingård som ligger et titalls kilometer øst for Auxerre og drives i dag helt ut økologisk. Det er 5. generasjon, Lilian Duplessis som forvalter de 9 hektar med vinmarkene som er fordelt på ulike parseller. Vinene fra Duplessis er blant de beste i Chablis og er heller ikke så veldig dyre i forhold til kvaliteten. Derfor passer den min lommebok og jeg har kjøpt flere flasker fra deres 1er Cru vinmarker. 

🥂Nå er denne Premier Cru vinen fra Montmains vinmarken 5 år og på tide med en ny test for å sjekke hvor langt den har kommet i utviklingen.

🍇 100% Chardonnay

🎨 Litt blek gulgrønn farge.

👃🏼Litt knytt med en gang, men åpner seg fint etter litt tid i karaffelen. Sitrus, epler, sjø og våt stein med noen blomstertoner. Flott og intens duft av mineraler som er er ganske så fremtredende i siste del i duftkurven.

👄 Kompleks og fyldig med en god konsentrasjon av friske frukter, god mineralitet og en intens smak av østers og salt sjø i på ganen. Syren har også gitt litt slipp og er ikke like skarp og kantete som forrige flaske jeg testet. Lang mineralsk utgang. Denne nærmer seg nå for å bli moden og i god balanse. Tipper om 3-5 års tid til vil være på topp.

Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay

🍷 The second wine in my own tribute to Michel Lafrag who passed away last week. 🕯RIP 🕊

🏰 Volnay is a village in the Côte de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy, renowned for making some of the smoothest, most delicate Pinot Noir wines of the southern Côte d'Or. It is located between Pommard and Meursault.

🍇 100% Pinot Noir


🎨 Rubin red color with some light purple hue.

👃🏼A bit tight nose after opening, but with 3 hours airiation, the wine slowly open up and shows a seductive nose with cool delicious fresh red berries, layered, strawberry, raspberry, leather and some spices. 

👄 Intence and perfumed, structured and vibrant with a sharp soursweet acidity, elegant and nuanced wine with a real punch. On the mid palate delicious aroma with butter and vanila, into a long finish with a clear mineral character.

2011 Domaine Michel Lafarge Beaune 1er Cru Les Aigrots

🥂 The first bottle in my own tribute to Michel Lagrage who passed way last week. 🕯 RIP 🕊

🏰 Domaine Michel Lafarge is a producer of Burgundy of wines located in Volnay, on the Côte de Beaune.

🗜Whole-cluster pressing, indigenous yeast fermentation. 

🕰 Aged for 15 months in 10% new oak, fined with bentonite, light filtration.

🔬13 % vol alcohol, 6.3 g/l acidity and <3 g/l sugar,

🍇 100% Chardonnay from Les Aigrots and the Premier Cru vineyard is of 0.23 hectar and was planted back in 1988 and are today fully organic and biodynamic certified.


🎨 Golden yellow color

👃🏼A rather seductive nose just after popin the cork. After some time nice tropical fruits, citrus and green apple shows up. Further on aroma of oak, butter and vanilla filled the nose and som lightly notes of minerals and spices.

👄 This wine is now in greate balance and perfect harmony between the freshness from ripe fruits and the more mature earthy notes from the terroir. Medium to long finish. Great wine in tribute to Michel Lagrage.

🏰 Vilmart & Cie is a champagne house located in the small village of Rilly la Montagne in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. It was founded in 1890 by Desiré Vilmart and has passed down the family since. Vilmart makes wines from 11 hectares of vineyards.

🍾 My first bootle from this relatively small producer

🕰 10 months i barrel and 42 months in bottle and a total of 4 years on its lees.

🍾 Disgorgment September 2018

🔬12.5 % vol alcohol, 3.7 g/l acidity and dosage 7 g/l sugar,

🍇 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir

🎨 Intense golden yellow color.

 👃🏼 The first fragrance from the glass shows intense and complex aroma of citrus, peach, nut and briochet notes with rich pear and a bit of mineral, salt sea and oyster on the nose.

 👄 Complex, bold and real intense with plenty of finesse.  Not too heavy, but still with much power and tons of class and sheer depth.  A slightly frank acidity delivers a lovely balance between acid and the dosage sugar.  A soft creamy finish layered with biscuit notes and depth of mineral flavor in the finish.  Very long aftertaste and with fine persistent bubbles.  A truly luxury and well made Champage.

🏰 Domaine François Lamarche is a Burgundy producer in the commune of Vosne-Romanée farming vines in a number of highly regarded vineyards. It is best known for its grand cru holdings in Clos-de-Vougeot, Grands-Échezeaux, Échezeaux and the monopole La Grande Rue.

💨 Decanted for more then 3 hours

🍇 100% Pinot Noir

🎨 Bright rubin red color with some funkling purple hue.

👃🏼Refined, cool, polished nose with red and dark berries, graphite, intence perfumed, truffle, fine leather, forestfloor, some leaves and mushroom, imperceptible touch of cigar and cedar on the nose. 

👄 The palate is well-structured, elegant with subtlety, super intence and very young red fruits, sour-sweet red currants and silky amplitude and finesse. Fine-grained tannins have just the right combination of silkiness and freshness. Full-bodied and a complex wine with layer by layer where the nuance are expressed with some slim soursweet cold berries into a long lingering finish. Will still develope and drinking well over the next two decades.

Når året lir mot slutt er det dags får å ta et tilbakeblikk i speilet og sette opp sin egen vinliste og her har jeg samlet mine Topp 10 hvitvin, Champagne og Rosévin for 2019. Dette er en liste plukket ut blant alle vinene jeg har testet og drukket gjennom året og skrevet smaksnotat til. Her kommer resten av lisen min:

2015 Domaine Alain Chavy Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
🎯 96/100 pts  4.8 ⭐️  (92-94p Robert Parker)

🇫🇷 Happy International Chardonnay Day 🇫🇷 

🏰 The best Puligny Montrachet I have tasted. From the Domaine Alan Chavy who produce lovely fruitdriven, pure and elegant wine from the Grand Cru vineyard Chevalier-Montrachet.

🎨 Towards light lemon yellow. 

👃🏼Green apples, vanilla, smokey minerals and some citrus with hints of nuts and a great refined nose. An elegant scented and briljant layered wine. 

👄 Still very young and therefore very fresh acidity, lovely texture and structure with a rich palate. A superb nuanced mouthfeel and a long and creamy finish. This wine will need 5-10 yesr before I taste the next bottle.

👍🏼 My third Riesling bottle from this great Grand Cru Domaine Zind Humbrecht in Alsace and the great 2015 vintage. Showing great development in balance between fruit and acidity.

🎨 Pale lemon yellow color.

👃🏼 Very rich nose with ripe red apples, citrus and tropical fruits, honey and minerals. 

👄 Complex wine with high vicosity, nuanced and with sweet ripe fruits, with fresh acidity, lively, nuanced and  elegant. Well balanced with flinty and minerality notes. Long aftertast.

🏰 This wine is named after the knight Gaspard de Sterimberg, who settled in Hermitage and built the iconic stone chapel that sits atop the hill.

🍇 Amazing Hermitage Blanc,  based on 70% Rousanne and 30% Mersanne grape varities. 

🎨 Intense golden yellow colour.

👃🏼Evolved scent with aromas of stone fruits, apples, pears, honey, some almonds, honeysuckle and hint of citrus and nuts on the nose.

👄 Complex and partly matured with still a fresh laser-focused acidity, some minerality, quite rich with sophisticated and a vibrating freshness. Nuanced, full-bodied elegant Hermitage with a long and charming finish.

🇿🇦 Happy White Wine Wednesday 🇿🇦 

🏰 Alheit Vineyards is one of the really great producers in Stellenbosch Western Cape in South Africa. Grapes in particulare ar coming from this single vineyard close to some Raido towers, high on a hill. And Lazarus, was the man in the Bible Jesus woke up from the death. Same with the vinyard, as this had been down for some years.

🍇 100% Chenin Blanc from dryland bushvine

🎨 Brilliance golden color

👃🏼Typical nose with yellow ripe apples, apricot, citrus, honey, some cinnamon and spices with distinctive and pleasing saline minerals from the hilltop shale soil.

👄 Partly developed wine with a bold and rich mouthfeel and offering a complex palate that are very dence and concentrated. Sweet fruit elements as same from the nose. Tannic and lovely acidity that balance nicely. Soft textural exit with a long aftertaste.

2016 Vincent Dauvissat Chablís Premier Cru Vaíllons 
 🎯 91/100 pts 4.3 ⭐️ 

🏰 Vincent Dauvissat is one of the star and mentioned as referance standard in Chablis for many years and it’s just Bernard Raveneau that can make him dethroned with rank in Chablis. Vincent’s 0,50 hektar Premier Cru vineyard Vaillon is known for citrus and lime characterized, slim, acidic and elegant wine.

🎨 Clear, straw yellow color

👃🏼Fragrances of limestone, citrus and green apple with hint of salt sea and minerals on the nose. 

👄 Very fresh and pure young, bold and concentrated citrus fruits on the palate. Lovely delicated acidity, vehment and complex exit. Still a bit green and not so sharp and precise as expected. Will need more cellertime.

🏰 Livio Felluga is an Italian estate nestled in Friuli-Venezia Giulia at the northern tip of the the Adriatic Sea. Terre Alte is considered one of Italy's most prestigious white wines. The estate takes its name from its founder, Livio Felluga, who came to the region in the 1930s. Today, it is famous for its blended white wines made from the region's most planted white varieties, including Friulano and Sauvignon Blanc

🍇 50% Friulano (Tai), 30% Pinot Bianco  and 20% Sauvignon Blanc

 🎨 A bit unclear luminous light yellow green colour

 👃🏼Intense bouquet of tropical fruit as yellow peach, pineapple and mango, floral notes of jasmine, acacia blossom with nice hint of vanilla, butter, oak on the nose.

👄 A superbly elegant wine with intense fruit and flower aroma, a full-bodied wine. Pleasant and well integrated acidity, round and velvety with some grassy note coming from Sauvignon Blanc. The aftertaste is florid, long and persistent.

🏰 This is an iconic producer, run by Olivier Collin and Sandra Zaragoza. Located in the village of Congy, in Sézanne just south of the Côte des Blancs.

🎨 Light yellow to greenich color

👃🏼Deep and outstanding fragrance of citrus, flowers and a great touch of mineral and wet stone.

👄 Very fresh and fruity with a great concentration. Tiny small bubbles and a beatutiful mousse. Excellent, lively acidity with a long complex aftertaste.

🥂 Fantastisk flott årgang champagne fra 2008 som blir omtalt som den beste i en levende manns minne. Dette var en champagne som ble sluppet til Champagne og Chablis release på VMP i juni i år. 480 flasker ble rever bort på rekordtid fra spesialbutikkene. Etterpå har det dukket opp noen etterslenger fra importøren og den finnes nå igjen i noen få enkeltflasker hos de samne spesialbutikkene. 

🍇 50%  Chardonnay og 50% Pinot Noir

🎨 Klar gylden glitrende farge

👃🏼 Duft av eple, sitrus og grapefrukt, brioche, autolyse og toast på nesen

👄 Nydelig gryende utvikling av moden frukt på smak med en spenstig og livlig syre. Fantastisk flott mineralitet, reffinert og en silkeaktig lang avslutning. Lav dosering gir en fantastisk flott balanse. 

👍🏼 En vin som bare vil utvikle seg og glede mange ganer i årene som kommer. Jeg fikk noen ekstra flasker som som jeg vil nyte i årene som kommer.

👍🏼 Finally, I have now open my own Rosé season (but this is bubbley)!

🏰 Frédéric Savart’s estate spreads on 4 hectares and is located on the lands of Ecueil, Premier Cru from the Montagne de Reims. Frédéric Savart is passionate about vinification of Champagne wine. He say he is just accompaniment to the work done by the vines, that he does like a jeweller.

🕰 Part of the wines was matured in oak barrels to nurture its complexity.

🍇 Grape variety: 82% Pinot Noir and 18% Chardonnay.

🎨 The colour is like light pink salmon and a part of rose petals.

👃🏼 Aroma notes of stewed red currant, strawberries, grapefruit, toast and biscuit on the nose.

👄 A true prestigious gem and of great quality in all its power and complexity. A tremendous champagne with a superb build, a vinous touch, and still this fruity presence. This is a powerful and elegant Champagne with high acidity, but in harmonious balance with some sweetness from the fruits. Lovely mousse in a long lively finish.

🌡To be served around 8-10°C 

🍽 Great to pair with smoked salmon or foie gras canapés or even the seasons fresh Norwegian strawberries. 🇳🇴🍓

😋 Can I have more? The absolute best Rosé I have tasted in a couple of years.

😱 En Rosévin til kr 450?? Nesten uhørt spør du meg.... men dette var et Klart feilkjøp. Sånn går det når man besøker VMP og gar glemt 👓 brillene i bilen på utsiden. Jeg var sikker på at dette var en hvitvin, og produsenten kjente jeg fra før da de lager noen fantastiske rødviner fra Priorat området som ligger mellom Barcelona og Alicante. Ser man på etiketten så står vel «Rosé Wine» kun med 6 pkt font ?. Her burde blindeforbundet tatt saken til forbrukerombudet og anlagt sak mot VMP eller importør. 😂😂 Nei, spøk til side, TN følger

🍇 100% Granacha

🎨 Intense kobberrød farge.

👃🏼 Friske søte røde bær, markjordbær, moreller og rips, samt rabarbra med noe sitrus og mineralitet på nesen.

👄 Forventet en tradisjonell rosévin i munnen, men her overraskes jeg med en flott munnfølelse som brer seg med en intensitet og fylde jeg sjelden eller aldri har smakt på en rosévin. Fin frisk syre følger og balanserer fint sødmen fra bærene, noe som kanskje kommer fra rabarbraen som oppleves fint syrlig. Til og med en meget flott nyansert og strukturert  avslutning med en ettersmak som sitter lenge.

👍🏼 Dette er en litt annerledes rosévin enn det jag har smakt tidligere, med mye større kompleksitet og fylde enn den vanlige rosévinen som selges i store kvanta om sommeren. Som dere som har fulgt meg  en stund, vet at Rosé ikke helt er min greie, om den da ikke er med bobler da! Men dette er en rosévin som må taes veldig seriøst.

2019 Topp 10 rødvin

De 10 beste rødvinene jeg smakte i 2019

Når året lir mot slutt er det dags får å ta et tilbakeblikk i speilet og sette opp sin egen vinliste og her har jeg samlet mine Topp 10 rødviner for 2019. Dette er en liste plukket ut blant alle vinene jeg har testet og drukket gjennom året og skrevet smaksnotat til. 

Egentlig en vanskelig øvelse da jeg har smakt mye over 1000 viner i år. Likevel prøver jeg med en liste og en rangering i forhold til min egen subjektive vurdering, samt egen preferanse.  For de som er litt observante vil man se at jeg sverger til «Old World», altså viner fra Frankrike, Spania og Italia, med en outsider fra Libanon.


Jeg har plukket ut 10 røde her og senere kommer en liste 10 hvite, hvorav 4 er Champagne og en Rosé.

2009 Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou Grand Cru Classe, Saint Julien Bordeaux
🎯 96(97-98)/100 pts 4.7 ⭐️

🏰 Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou is located in the south-east of Saint-Julien appelation on the left bank in Bordeaux. The wine produced here was classified as one of fifteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855, also mentioned by the leading Super Second.

🕰 The wines are aged for 18 months in 50% to 80% new oak barrels

🍇 The vineyards are planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, but the ‘09 has a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot that achieved 13.5% natural alcohol.

💨 Very shy on the nose just after opening. Gave it 2-3 hours in decanter and  opened up nicely, but this wine is so pure young, even with its 11 years on its back.

🎨 Deep purple and inky color with some intense hue. 

👃🏼 Classic left bank aromas as cassis, blackcurrant and blackberry, cigar, leather, graphite, oak with some sweet liqorice and cedar the nose.

👄 There are still a lot of tannins and acidity to be developed and polished, but with great structure and perfectly well-balanced and well-made wine. Great depth and finesse with an elegant monumental palate.  Will try a new bottle in 5 year time. By now, 96 point but will probably end up at 97-98p in 5-10 years time when the wine reach its peak.

👍🏼 I decided to try out one of my lastest bottles I just recieved via privat import, just for a test. The other bottles will be stored aways for 10-15 years before next will be open.

🏰 Domaine Michelot is located in Morey St. Denis, but also with parcels in Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy. Clos de la Roche is the most northerly of Morey-Saint-Denis' four grand cru vineyards.

💨 Decanted and airiation for close to 3 hours and open up nicely

🎨 Dark rubin red color with a glint of purple shadow

👃🏼A very young, pure and powerful bouquet with redcurrant, black cherry, plum, truffel and some hint of oak on the nose.

👄 Far too young, and at some time this wine feel a bit underdeveloped, but the first sip show a plump and structured wine with tonns of weight and punch. Great concentration, laiered and nuanced, characteristics with the traditional forrest floor, mushroom, truffel with an earthy and a pretty nice and soft acidity mid-palate. Some pinch of spice and a minerality lingering in the finish.

🏰 Cos d'Estournel is a Chateau and winery in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of the Médoc. In the 1855 Classification, it was classified as a second growth and remains one of the most prominent and sought-after of all Bordeaux wines.

🍇 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc

🍷 Here I have open a Magnum bottle from 2014 and is far to young and probably «cradle robbery». I still find this wine very impressive at this stage and especially for the intensity of its structure and the explosive dark fruits on the palate. Normally this wine is dark, brooding and tannic when young, developing complexity and intensity over time.

🎨 Very deep, dark purple-black color – almost opaque. 

👃🏼The are beautiful crushed blackcurrant and blackberry character on the nose at the first sniff, the follows sweet ripe cherries and chocolate with hint of smoke and aniseed.



👄 The wine is of cause tannic at this stage, but not so intence as expected as they are very fine-grained which add precision and focus instead and seriously intense fruit and berry aromas and flavors. Extream powerfull and complex wine, full of energy that can stay in cellars for decades. I still have a couple of more Magnum and will store in the abslute rear row.

🍇 100% Tempranillo

🎨 Deep rubin red and opaque colour

👃🏼Clean, fresh and a compact fragrance of dark berry, tobacco, dark mushroom and some lovely cedary spices on the nose.  


👄 Wonderful bold and complex entry with a brillant soft mothfeel, full body, marvelous slim and polished tannins, with an electrified acidity. Soft, long and well toned finish

🎯 93/100 poeng og 4.3 ⭐️

👍🏼 Dette var Barolo sin det. Jeg har hatt flere viner fra denne trollmannen og forkjemper og tradisjonist av en vinprodusent. Dette er den første Baroloen fra Flavio Roddolo jeg smaker. Mega hype vin og Flavio har nesten blitt en kultfigur fra Barolo i  Piemonte.  Vinene hans er stort meget vanskelig å få tak i og blir tatt inn til VMP i meget små kvanta. 👃🏼 Duft av litt søte mørke bær, kirsebær, rips, tjære og roser, jordlige toner som høy og stall.


👄 Kraftig anslag i munnen med en syrlig og spenstig syre. Tanninene er godt integrert i denne over 12 år gammel Barolo. En lang herlig avslutning med en stram og rustikk tekstur. Dette er en strålene vin som fortsatt vil levere fint 10-20 år til.

🎨 Dark ruby, with brick edge. 

👃🏼 Amazing fragrance of vanilla, blackbarry, liquorice, leather and anis with an intense, almost massive nose and some hints of barrels and oak. 

👄 Still with fresh acidity and ripe silky tannins. Rich and fruity, ripe, close to jammy at this stage, but with a firm and beatiful backbone. Complex, nuanced and intense liquorice with a long and structured finish. Wow! 


🍽 Served to lamb steak with creamed potatoes and mashed root-vegetables.

🏰 Domaine Michèle & Patrice Rion is a wine producer and négociant based in the Côte de Nuits region. Grape to this wine are situated halfway up the hill in Chambolle-Musigny and facing full east. The shallow clay soil contains a significant amount of crushed limestone.

🗜 Hand-picked grapes and scrupulously sortedm then fermented in open stainless steel tanks for around three weeks.

🕰 The wine is matured in oak barrels, with about 50% new oak, for 18 months.

🎨 Medium garnet edging to deep brick.

👃🏼Chambolle aroma of delicate herbal raspberry and redcurrant scents with clear minerality. Perfumed, violets and some notes of autumn leaves and wet forest floor with spices on the nose.


👄 Still fresh and elegant, perfect balanced with a soft grip. Nice acidity, ripe silky tannins, decent intensity with getailed fresh fruits. Quite chewy and tight, straight and tense in the mouth, nuanced with a long narrow and fresh finish.

🏰 Fra en region med konflikter kommer her en kompleks og en egenart vin inspirert av både Bordeaux og Rhônedalen. Chateau Musar har gjort det umulige mulig. Gjennom den visjonære vinmakeren Serge og hans jordnære økonombror Ronald har familien Hochar dyrket druer i den krigsherjede Bekaadalen i Libanon i mer enn et halvt århundre.

🍇 34% Cinsault, 33% Carignan, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon

🕰 Årgang 1996 var dessverre ikke en av de store årgangene i Bekaadalen og med noen mindre problemer i kjelleren til Hochar som også førte til noe utblandet vin.

🎨 Dyp og rød med en lett utviklet brun/orange kant.

👃🏼Kompleks duft av mørke og røde bær med varme fruktnoter, rosiner og tørket frukt, lær og fjøs med hint av kjøtt, krydder og urter.

👄 Rik og saftig med en fyldig frukt og fine utviklede elementer. Lang og kompleks.  En deilig og klassisk Musar. Konsentrert og markert fruktighet og syrlighet. Modne tanniner. 


🍽 En meget flott matvin som står seg elegant til høstens ferske lammekjøtt og som opprinnelig er skapt for lammerettene fra Midt-Østen.

🏰 Muga was founded in 1932 in the Rioja region of Spain. The winery is located in the town of Haro with vineyards all around Rioja. Prado Eneo have grape from the Baltracones vineyard.

🍇 80% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano.

🕰 The 2010 Vintage missing some of the maturity as my previous bottle from 2004

🎨 Dark rubin color with purple edge. 

👃🏼 Lovely aroma of red berries, dried dark cherries, vanilla, leather, barrels, herbs and black pepper. 

👄 Perfect balanced with a lively acidity and firm and fairly rounded tannins. Complex, harmonious and intence mouthfill with a lovely freshness, powerful and fruity intensity.  A delicious, elegant finish with a long aftertaste.

👍🏼 My first taste of the bottle from the 2009 Vintage and from one of the best wine cooperatives in the world.

🏰 Produttori del Barbaresco is a kooperative of 52 members producing grapes from  105 hectars, mainly nebbiolo from 9 single (cru) Vineyards. Pora is a 10,8 hectars Vineyard with south to south-west exposure and soil of limestone and clay. Vineyard owners: Dellaferrera, Manzone

🗜Vinification: Fermentation at 30°c in 28 days of skin contact time, malolactic completed.

🕰 Ageing: 36 months in large oak barrels and 12 months in bottles and with bottling date, May 2013 and in total 13,333 bottles produced. This is bottle no. 2627

🍇 100% Nebbiolo

🎨 Dark rubin red color with a orange to brick growing edge.

👃🏼Scent of earth, leather, red cherry,  plum, licorice and roses with some hint of sweet herbs and spicy character on the nose. 


👄 Partly to well developed, medium plus body with great maturing tannins. Vibrant and with firmly acidic that have a great balance.  Very nice concentration and structural with a long earthy finish.
