🏰 Vilmart & Cie is a champagne house located in the small village of Rilly la Montagne in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. It was founded in 1890 by Desiré Vilmart and has passed down the family since. Vilmart makes wines from 11 hectares of vineyards.

🍾 My first bootle from this relatively small producer

🕰 10 months i barrel and 42 months in bottle and a total of 4 years on its lees.

🍾 Disgorgment September 2018

🔬12.5 % vol alcohol, 3.7 g/l acidity and dosage 7 g/l sugar,

🍇 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir

🎨 Intense golden yellow color.

 👃🏼 The first fragrance from the glass shows intense and complex aroma of citrus, peach, nut and briochet notes with rich pear and a bit of mineral, salt sea and oyster on the nose.

 👄 Complex, bold and real intense with plenty of finesse.  Not too heavy, but still with much power and tons of class and sheer depth.  A slightly frank acidity delivers a lovely balance between acid and the dosage sugar.  A soft creamy finish layered with biscuit notes and depth of mineral flavor in the finish.  Very long aftertaste and with fine persistent bubbles.  A truly luxury and well made Champage.
